Here at Miami Pet Clinic, we know that your furry friend’s health matters to you. One of the top ways to keep them feeling their best is by getting them vaccinated against the most common diseases that threaten their wellbeing. It’s a simple, cost-effective way to avoid difficult hospital stays and a sick pet over their lifetime.

Cat and dog vaccinations fall into two categories: core and non-core vaccines.

Core Vaccines

Core Vaccines

For core vaccinations, these shots protect against illnesses that are highly contagious if your pet were exposed, and they carry a high risk to their health. Core vaccines include rabies for both dogs and cats, which is also a required shot for these pets throughout Florida. Canine Distemper, Parvovirus and Adenovirus are also considered core vaccinations for dogs, while Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, FeLV (kittens) and Panleukopenia are the core ones for cats.
Non-Core Vaccines

Non-Core Vaccines

Non-core vaccinations include any seasonal flu and Bordetella, as well as others that the veterinarian may suggest depending on the time of year or seasonal outbreaks. We always tailor your pet’s care to their specific needs with the goal of giving them the right amount of protection.

Vaccination Schedules

If you’ve recently adopted a puppy or kitten, we can walk you through the necessary vaccination schedules to keep them safe. These shots are given a few weeks apart to ensure your new little ball of fluff is ready to take on the world by your side. If you’re not sure which vaccinations your pet has already had and which ones they might need, we can help you out there as well. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions you may have.
